The ground of action is to be…

Thich Nagy Hanh once said: “The ground of action is to be, the quality of being, determines the quality of doing.”  We always want to have different things in our lives, which is why we are constantly doing something to achieve more.  In this way our life will always be based on mechanical actions in an endless cycle.  Another way of living is the “being” way; where there are no problems to be solved, nor achievements to be pursued, but to experience things as they are now and not wanting them to be different.  Maybe your life is totally perfect, you just didn’t realize why you were too busy looking for something.
