Sometimes we don’t understand words

Sometimes we think we know what a word means but then when someone ask us, we realize that we can’t put our understanding in words. For example, what does it mean to believe? How would you explain a word like that to a friend? Many years ago, a missionary in Africa wanted to translate a Gospel of John into Sango language. However, he couldn’t find a word in Sando that meant “believe”. He took the problem to a native Christian. The man thought for a few minutes and then suggested, “Doesn’t it mean to hear in my heart?”

Thanks!
